The wonderful landscape and special light that characterizes Cape Cod drew Robina back to its shores from Florida in 1994, wherein she settled in Orleans. Robina feels comfortable working in her studio in both pastel and oil paint, and on location, capturing the light on the marshes, sandy beaches, and magnificent flower gardens of this narrow land.
She holds juried membership in the Cape Cod Art Association and is a signature member of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. She is also a member of the Creative Arts Center in Chatham, and the Pastel Painters Society of Connecticut. Her luminous still life paintings have received numerous awards. She is also active with the Plein Air Painters of Cape Cod.
Robina is a graduate of New York University. She has attended the Art Students League of New York, studying with Frank Mason and Robert Beverly Hale and Parsons School of Design, taking courses in Albers Color Theory; she has also studied at Pratt Institute. In addition, she has done independent work under the tutelage of Albert Handell, Tim Thies, Charles Sovek, Doug Dawson, Frank Federico, Lois Griffel, and Elizabeth Mowry, PSA. She has done extensive private study with Rosalie Nadeau, PSA., Don Demers and Sally Strand.
Robina’s work is included in collections up and down the East Coast, and in California and Texas as well. She is represented by Gallery 31 in Orleans, MA, Fresh Paint Gallery in Yarmouthport, MA, and Sandpiper Gallery in Wellfleet, MA.
